D Dinobaking a trending algorithm into masto seems. bad. there are many such algorithms, and picking / implementing one is wrought with choices about how you want to reflect a community's activities -- choices that admins and users alike may make differently.
trending algorithms are cool math but baking a particular one into masto seems worse than developing a plugin system so communities can make these choices for themselves.
