    I appreciate the creative aspect of cosplay, but I don't get the point of it when you look -nothing at all in any way like the character you're cosplaying-

      genuinely curious to be enlightened here, what's the purpose of it then? 

      cos there seems to be the level of "I did all the face makeup and stuff to look like the character on top of the costume"

      and the level of "i look like -me- in that characters outfit"

      and in the latter, you...don't inherently look like that character, so does that still count as cosplaying or?

      @katiekats Eh, its not a make or break for me if they make some sort of attempt to either work that into a character or otherwise use makeup or something to try to get around it but so many people just .. dont

        yeah, as noted in my post after.

        there's like the people who use makeup and stuff to try and look like the character beyond the base costume, and those who dont.

        with those who dont, isn't what you're cosplaying...yourself, in that characters outfit, rather than the character itself?
