         @alpacaherder I think it went down 10-14 months ago. Abandoning the account means I'll no longer check to see if it came back.

         @kris I used to use #Pump.io, but the instance I used went down permanently in 2016 after years of unreliability. I still may be able to answer your questions.

         @kris When I say years of unreliability, I mean randomly being non-usable for months at a time. Evan had a good idea about spinning up several instances to bootstrap the network, but they were still almost all hosted by him, so when his work got busy, he didn't have the time to properly admin, or even to orchestrate spinning them off to other admins. That said, if you want to try a public instance, I'd recommend jxself's datamost.com instance.

            @lnxw48a1 I open an account today and I must say that it does not work well. How to add user I don't know. I only be able to post. I wanted to test the federation with hubzilla that support now activitypub so who theoriticaly is able to talk with pumpio.

               @kris #ActivityPump is not quite the same as the #Pump.io protocol, so they may or may not work together yet. I believe you can subscribe to other Pump users from that person's account profile.

                  @kris Make that #ActivityPub. #ActivityPump was the original name for #Pump.io, back when EvanP was first trying to develop a lower-resource-use federated social server. (There was never an explanation for the name change, either. I always thought AP was a better name.)

                  @lnxw48a1 I don't know that is my problem. It was just a test. I think I will let it go down and wait untill ActivityPub is implemented on more apps
