         @tomas I think part of it is kids who got bullied & shunned are over-represented in tech. I was one & barely escaped my Ayn Rand phase :|

            @taiganaut being bullied is no excuse for being an asshole. But it is sad, especially those who seem willing to trade their humanity over it.

         @tomas tbh I tried pretty hard to be an awful person as a proactive defense mechanism. For me it didn't take. I suspect for others it can.

            Que? I mean, if you want to be really hardline about it all online publications are clickbait. No-one publishes anything on the Web without hoping for clicks. And third-party tracking bullshit being pulled in is just a consequence of how online advertising works, plus incompetent webdevs. Not that I like it of course - I use NoScript and RequestPolicy
