    "Analysts Blame Poor Marketing For 'Solo' Box Office Failure, Not Fatigue/Backlash" 

    I didn't hate Solo as much as some did (thought it was distincly average overall. Drab acting and uninspired plot, but some great cinematography and action sequences)

    But...this sort of thing is ridiculous.

    Sometimes filmgoers just don't like a film, aren't excited for the premise, etc. Blaming marketing seems a bit ridiculous since...

    Anecdotal, but I saw a shit-ton of it.

    It's a fucking Star Wars film, you could release no trailers or posters at all and 90% of the population would still know about it.

      @katiekats Drab acting with bad plots but good action is something I think far too many people are quick to forgive, myself.

        Yeah, hence it just being...okay, to me. the cinematography I mentioned, is what 'saved' it for me. It was very nice to look at, and had some real nice camera shots. It's just a shame that was wasted on a film that couldn't really back it up in other areas.
