    @paulfree14 it would be fun if he did, but I doubt Assange would join the fediverse for the same reasons that other celebs left Mastodon after a couple of weeks.

    Federated and mesh systems aren't a good way to reach a mass audience and be a celebrity where millions of followers are hanging upon every hot take. Modern celebrity is really a function of broadcast technology, which on the internet means a centralized system like Twitter or Facebook.

      @paulfree14 I like to think that federated or mesh systems are about real community, whereas broadcast technologies are about the illusory/fake celebrity culture.
