    Centrism is dead. That's probably a good thing, though. The final sentences of the article sum it up nicely: "It was a pleasant run while it lasted. But now it’s time for voters to truly decide what type of society we’d like to live in. At some point, everyone needs to choose a side."

      @ink_slinger This is a good take.

      I wish there was more discussion, though, about how antidemocratic and basically fucked a system must be to give 66% of the seats to a party that got 40% of the popular vote.

      The people of Ontario clearly have a progressive lean, but the electoral system is utterly broken.

        @Modern_Industrial This is a problem across the entire country, both at the federal level and in most provincial elections, as well.

        As troubling as it can be to watch European parties form alliances with extreme fringe parties (always on the right, for some reason) in order to form government, at least their systems tend to result in something that more closely reflects the will of the voters.
