I'm still wondering why Github is worth 7.5 billion to MS. I mean, I see some value in making it really easy for FOSS developers to integrate with the MS ecosystem (e.g. a "deploy this shit to Azure" button) and the social graph has some value (though GDPR and the likes will seriously limit how far they can abuse it) but is that really worth billions? And lets not forget that MS is probably the only company besides Oracle that can actually ruin Github by overreach, the convenience of Github is so strong that people will eat a lot of shit just to keep using it but the traditional animosity towards MS would probably drive enough projects off Github to kill the attraction if they abuse their position.

@verius Integration with Visual Studio.

@verius "Start new Solution > Community Solution > Open" = instant home on Web for new project, from your IDE. Editor-based diffs for pull requests. Release notes to "your community" and cloud deployment targets as Builds.

@6gain Yeah, but they could easily get that by paying Github some money. Most of it is probably already existing APIs.
