   @hinterwaeldler Only if either of them would introduce a new feature, which the other one doesn't support. But only federation regarding this feature wouldn't be compatible. Normal status federation would still work fine.
   
   Though Pleroma's and Mastodon's dev team do communicate with each other and try to stay compatible to each other.
