tbh i think a good goal for anyone that wants to change the pattern of "always just doing what's comfortable and never risking anything" should be to think about ways in their own life they can profoundly reject the system and makes themselves more comfortable with risk and working outside of what we're familiar with.

not just political stances and protests, not just the "liberal" version of direct action where you start recycling or donate to charity.

we need to be actively changing our lifestyles if that's something we're capable of. everyone able should be finding ways to minimise how their lives fit into our current system, trying to eliminate any reliance on ideas that stem from abuse and oppression

you don't necessarily have to eyeball the barrel of a gun to do something to drastically alter your relationship with our current shitty society. but you do have to take risks.

i guess that's why i find the idea of being a nomad or something similar, so interesting. it's one idea of leaving behind a life within capitalism to sorta forge your own way through life.

it's a whole other lifestyle that minimises how much power capitalism and hierarchy have over you, with relatively low risk compared to more extremist actions.

ideas like this are probably what will help bring about the end of capitalism, at least more surely than voting and protest.

it's not a perfect idea, and it sure isn't very accessible, but i feel if we keep thinking along these lines instead of thinking about voting, protest, and other mostly ineffective and trivial things that don't really challenge our worldviews or leave our comfort zones, then maybe we'll find something even better. or improve our existing ideas.

gotta stop thinking within the bounds of the system
