    My child has internalized the meaning of "sorry" to be what you say when you want/are doing something you know you shouldn't be.

    "I want some ice cream for lunch, Daddy - I'm sorry, I want some ice cream."

      @Modern_Industrial I mean, you did move to Canada recently. He's just learning the local dialect. Kids adapt faster than adults.

        @ink_slinger Absolutely! If we were in the States, the equivalent statement would be something like "sorry, not sorry" - I appreciate the brevity.
