so Lyn wants me to write an ace romance short story to submit to Cuil Press in two weeks but the anthology premise is to put a twist on a common romance plot trope and I have no idea what common romance plot tropes would *be* because like all but maybe five stories I've read that have romances in them were actually scifi or fantasy with romance subplots

and of those five-ish, most were Anne McCaffrey, who has her own very particular flavor of romance.
