    @notclacke In Russian there's also no distinction between apes and monkey by separate words, they are all "обезьяна" (pronounced roughly like "obezyana").
    And there are "человекоподобная обезьяна" ("human-like simian") and "гоминид" (great ape, "hominidae", pronounced "gominid").
    In translating "monkey" in monkey-as-slur tropes I guess the most common choice will be to use "макака" ("maqacue") or "мартышка" ("guenon", pronounced "martyshka"). Or, quite possibly, just "обезьянка", with a diminutive "-ka".
