   The original rumour is based on a education video about child lifters from Karachi - the video was edited out to make it look like an actual kidnapping.

      whatsapp has made it easy to share small video clips. The side effect of that is easy spreading of rumours.
      I think that the lynching happens because there is no trust in the govt - people have to fend for themselves. Also brazen display of govt supporting murderers isn't helping.
      Banning internet, like what the govt is doing now is not going to help.

         with so many lychings, we have be careful about visiting populated areas which are not frequented by tourists.
