    @delores 6502 instruction set is somewhat minimal and an exercise in patience. (Some have called it the original RISC.) I would not start off with 6502 for assembler - 68000 is much better for learning (Amiga) - 32-bit registers and an orthogonal instruction set. As for learning programming, that takes a lifetime to master. Would learning assembler help you to achieve your goals? It might help you understand the bottom level of the stack but not much else, unless you need to write device drivers or something else that needs to talk to the hardware directly.
