@ignitionigel note: that thread is a year old, but still a good overview of some of the relevant criteria for comparing messaging apps, as is this one, which is also a year old, and has some interesting points on #Telegram (note: it says #Wire server isn't #FreeCode which is no longer true, so Telegram comments could be wrong or out-of-date too)
