@grainloom @paulfree14 more importantly, isolated culture stagnates and over time becomes a caricature of itself as unique aspects become emphasized out of proportion, until it stops serving its original purpose, then it is disregarded as irrelevant and then forgotten.
It isn't possible to freeze culture and conserve it that way, nor is there any point to it — the current state is the result of centuries of exchange.
Today's novelties are tomorrow's traditions.
