   #sonTwo recently said that being in #SoFlo for Hurricane #Irma showed him something. When he was home in #SoCal, the fact that "the Big One" might happen at any time meant that we always made an effort to have stored food, water, pet food, and to have fuel in the vehicles. Because storms can often be forecast days ahead, #Florida residents tend wait until the last minute to prepare.

      Not that lower-income people who are barely able to pay the rent, car payment, and get a little food will have much left over for such preparations. But better-off people can do so (and hopefully, "adopt" a low-income family in their neighborhood).
