   Well done, everyone. We're the first generation in many years who'll leave this country worse than we found it.

   I was born in a growing, integrated Western European country and will die in a much poorer nation more akin to the likes of Moldova, weak and isolated and constantly sensitive to economic shock, in hock to rip-off merchants and criminals and ideologues, with little prospect of escape for those of us stuck here.

      Freedom of movement for British citizens is something that's hardly been talked about.

      But surely the freedom to vote with your feet and emigrate is the most basic freedom of all? If you do not have the freedom to say "bollocks to Britain, I want to live under a different system or in a different culture" then you don't have much freedom at all.

      That's not disloyal or unpatriotic, it's pragmatic. A country with closed borders is a large prison.
