What's your favourite video game that you've never finished? For me, it's the first Final Fantasy for NES. I clicked on the fairy bottle in my inventory, which caused you to open the bottle, letting the fairy escape! There's no warning that this will happen, as usually clicking on an item would just describe it to you. After that, I was pissed and gave up (not sure it was even possible to finish after that, since you need the fairy to unlock other stuff). #gaming #gameing

Years ago, I bought a second-hand NES and a copy of Final Fantasy, to try and finish it, and never managed it because the NES crapped out on me, so now I'm thinking about buying the mobile version, since the controls are basic enough that it should translate to mobile with no real issues...and I won't open that damn fairy bottle!

OMG...just reading a Final Fantasy wiki and, apparently, opening the bottle and letting the fairy escape is what you're SUPPOSED to do. Doesn't matter when/where you do it, the fairy flies to where she's supposed to go. You just go there after releasing her and all is well. In my 10-year-old mind (or however old I was), I'd fucked up by letting her escape. All this time, I was actually much closer to finishing the game than I'd realized!

@ink_slinger The Dig
I got stuck at one of the puzzles for weeks, and never picked it back up again.
I should try again now that I'm 20 years older.
