i keep getting these weird feelings about identity politics where they matter but they also don't, and it's hard to sort them out

like...oppression is good to keep in mind, respecting everyone's identity is good, but comparing marginalisations and keeping score can get bad real fast

not to mention like, the expectation that you have to live up to 100% of the definition of whatever labels you give yourself or are applied to you
