If you think, #Slackware is a niche GNU/Linux distro for hobbyists and not for production servers in the enterprise, think again. Comparison of distro life cycles/support time frame with security fixes:
- OpenSuse: 3 years
- Debian: 3 years + 2 years LTS
- Ubuntu Server: 5 years
- CentOS: 7 years
- Slackware: 7 to 9 years (Slackware 13.0 was supported for 9 years, 13.37 for 7 years. Slackware 14.0, released in 2012, is still supported).
