We bought a cast iron griddle for our upcoming camping trip. I've never cooked with cast iron before. I'm looking forward to it.
In preparation, I dermmeled off all the sharp bits at the casting lines, and I sanded the whole thing down with 50 grit. I'm seasoning it with shortening (because that's what Martha Stewart said to use). It looks pretty good after the first coat. I will give it two more before trying it out.
