Most found-footage movies make ridiculous situations to ensure that a character is recording -- Chronicle is the only movie where the fact that the character is recording makes sense.
The main character is a young person, in the 2nd decade of the 21st century, that constantly records themself. At one point the footage changes from personal camera to news footage, smoothly.
