Hund@theamazingxemo I have a Nexus 5X with LineageOS and no GApps. I've been using LineageOS (previously CyanogenMod) on all my phones all the way back to Android 1.6.
It has always worked very well for me. Just make sure to check if the phone you want is officially supported and if it's not, check XDA forums for unofficial builds and make sure that everything vital is working on those builds.
