Christina O'Sullivan ✅ 🇨🇦This morning I wonder about peoples who created letters for their society's alphabet then decided not to pronounce them. E.g. English and the letter 'r' in the words arse and better. English transplants to other continents decide to pronounce the letter 'r' in those words. Does this happen with other 'Empire' languages (e.g. Arabic, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish)?
