    I lost track of who shared this link earlier, but #Google continues to track your location even when you explicitly tell it not too.

    I really need to look at going full FOSS-droid at some point. I just with OSM didn't completely suck for navigation. Google Maps is great for that. Maybe I could get an old school, dedicated GPS unit for use in the car.

      @ink_slinger I have mixed feelings on these alerts.

      On the one hand: sure, switching it off on your phone would be the simple user-friendly control.

      On the other hand: this tracking can be turned off in your Google security settings, which Google makes a big deal about whenever you set up an account.

      These headlines seem to imply that number 2 doesn't exist.
