It seems like "decentralize" has become something like a buzzword. Yes it's fine when hosting a libre, open-source web-application and stay in contact with others. No doubt about it! But when looking at all the platforms coming up I have doubts back in mind: What should the final stage be? Like hosting some cloud-server or a blog and like a sudden someone else comes up sharing? Okay, sounds fine in the first place. But when looking more deeply: Sharing is NOT always caring. Especially when "sharing" is taken over for political motivations and demagogy. For example what to do when a picture created and taken over by a "white supremacist"? Please keep in mind: Technology is not free of ideology. Most time this is a positive aspect, but there are also dark sides. Therefore we have to deal with this: Staying free as in freedom, but with respect for each other. Harassment is not getting a "welcome"! #Thoughts #Commentary
