The tank is coming along pretty well now. All of the plants are established and growing. The only "problem" that remains is the pH. It's still in the 8.0+ range, which is odd because my tap is 7.2. I did have calciferous rock in there, but it's been gone for a few months now, and the pH hasn't lowered. Everything else in the system is either inert (silica sand, lava rock, clay) or should be actively acidifying the water (soil, wood, plants). I've been doing 30 gallon water changes once or twice per week. Any idea what gives?
