I question some of their assumptions though. Like they talk about disruption but the idea that these massive corporations are the future of technology isn't really questioned. They don't discuss tech-as-public-utility at all.

Also current trends seem toward a balkanized internet especially in the corporate / consumer space. We've seen it for a long time in the attempts to prop up an artificial and obsolete system of regional intellectual property rights licensing, and more of it now with the GDPR pushback and US sites and services cutting off EU users.
