Let me tell you what real bias looks like: It's what doesn't get reported. One form of bias that we are all familiar with is the news media's tendency to neglect good news. Pair this with the topic of immigration and you get only bad news about immigrants. They are either drowning in the Mediterranean or burning cars in Sweden. Somehow, the media failed to understand how this might incite hatred toward immigrants, and once they did get it, they made it worse by adding even more bias.

What I mean by adding even more bias is: When the news media realised that their bias toward bad news incited hatred when it was about immigrants, their response was to censor out details about ethnicities. People notice it when such details are suddenly left out, and they start filling in the blanks through speculation; excellent fodder for conspiracy theories.
