    The best transcription software is a simple text editor and a podcast player that can simply adjust playback speed down to 1/2.

    I know, I know, real transcriptionists don't need the speed control. I have been in a courthouse before.

      I use SoundScriber, which amazingly still works on Windows 10 (but have to downgrade the MP3 tags sometimes).
