   I feel like I need to start moving my web research into some kind of proper database, only not one that sucks

   Does anyone have any suggestions for a freeform-y database useful for researching random knowledge fields, and storing/searching links between ideas, terms, publications, people, etc?

   This is for personal, not academic use. But I'm starting to realise that I have just too much 'stuff'.

   I'm thinking something like a wiki, but... not just text?
