   this means that you live in a maze of dependency issues whenever something in the underlying libs or pythons change.

   Static compilation and linking is Good.

      This is, by the by, a major reason to consider Go for your deployment system. Not that Go is a great language. It's not. But its build system is designed for deployment, which is great.
