The Photos component: I'm currently spending a lot of time on a project of putting up old and new family photos.
There's a lot I really like!. The developers have done a great job and I think this is completely usable as is, or I wouldn't be bothering to spend time with it. The following is only about the things that seem to be missing, or which I didn't yet find a way to do.
    • I don't see a way to rename a folder once it's up. Initially I used overly long names. Likewise I don't find a way to move files.
    • I wish that "recent" pictures referenced meta-data like exif, as, in the case of putting up old albums, "recent" could be that 20 year old album from an old family vacation.
    • Maybe Photos and Galleries need to be somehow combined. Like it would be nice to have those forward and backward controls from Gallery after you enlarge an image to full-size in Photos.
    • It would be nice to be able to view exif data when looking at a picture.
    • It would be nice to have a slideshow function
    • It might be possible to achieve some sort of preload magic in Photos, like loading the next photo in an album in the background. (This may already be happening in Gallery).
By the way, I find it more convenient to put up photos via normal browser upload. WebDav seems to stall each time. (Working via Thunar file manager on MX Linux over a reasonable broadband connection)
