    I've come to find that I've completely over-valued the concept of "knowing your audience".

    I'm now of a mind that everyone should be your audience, and the information you share should have sufficient "resolution" to meet the audience's level of desire.

    To put it another way, the information you share should be rich enough that the audience can decide how deep they want to go instead of trying to "fit" the depth to a specific audience.
