    @Elizafox I criticize bully behaviour wherever I see it, on the fediverse and elsewhere. If I'd seen what was happening to those people you say got driven out, I would have spoken up. But the 'verse is a big place, and even if we spent 24/7 reading it, we'd only see a fraction of what goes on.

    In summary, some people might be sticking up for Wil because he's famous. I am because he's human and AFAICT has done nothing to deserve the rough time he's getting.

      @Elizafox also, most of the people dogpiling Wil wouldn't be doing it if he wasn't famous (abuse wouldn't count as "punching up" if he wasn't a sort of celebrity), so ...

      @Elizafox ... and no. I don't believe accusations against people just because they've been made. Sometimes mistakes are made, and people dogpiling without stopping to check, has led to some effects on people's lives that are much more terrible (eg losing your job) than having someone be mean to you online, or not receiving your social media posts. Some people need a serious reality check.
