Been looking around a bit in the diaspora API, I'm thinking about making a desktop client for diaspora. I've been maintaining such a client for gnusocial for a long time, but now since the gnusocial server I was on got closed down I'm not using that any more. I usually work in c++, and Qt is the way to do it. I'll look around a bit more and see if I can get something started. The gnusocial client I'm talking about is this one : https://gitlab.com/stigatle/yaics
Would be nice to have it the same way but for diaspora.
