September is fungi time in the #Highlands. Actually, mycelium is always there, it is just that we see the fruiting bodies now.
Bulbous Honey Fungus - Armillaria gallica
The first photo shows the younger fungus (more rounded) growing on a tree stump.
The second photo shows older fungus (more flattened & dark patches spread) growing where the tree roots are.
This is one of 70 species of bioluminescent fungus. The mycelium glows green.
