@elizafox @azure I think git the model isn't bad -- the problems are all in the UX, with arbitrary and inconsistent parameter formats and overloaded verbs -- and am wondering whether gitless would be the right thing for newcomers to use.

For myself, I'm already trained on git idiosyncracies and don't have any real reason to switch, which of course is part of the problem.
