    @bthall Perhaps being “uncharitable” is a reaction to someone’s inner feeling of scarcity and lack. But not a 1:1 relationship, as I’ve known many that would split the last of their food with someone, despite not knowing where their next meal was coming from.

    I’m just speculating, but if someone feels “there is already not enough for me”, they might also be less likely to share their (often clearly visible to everyone except themselves) excess with someone who lacks.
