Conversation

Years ago I randomly thought of a sentence that should be in a book somewhere. Disembodied, not part of any preconceived story.

"I left her on the beach at Shimonoseki, and I never saw her again."

I would literally write a whole novel just so I can use this sentence. Aside from the fact that it must obviously be a romance set in Japan, I have no other ideas. But such a beautiful sentence.
