Yeah, Linux Mint is running *really* badly in VirtualBox on macOS. I had to disable nested paging and turn video memory up to 128 MB to even get a picture on the screen. I updated Linux Mint to the latest version using the Update Manager and now it just sits there at the boot screen forever. Everything is extremely sluggish as well. Meanwhile, Windows 10 runs flawlessly on the same VM, and the GUI is fairly snappy.

Adding more CPUs to the VM somehow made things WORSE. I think it has gotten as far as loading X now, but it's taking forever to get there. I don't understand what the hell is going on.

Okay, so enabling nested paging again after the updates worked, but why is everything laggy?
