    @TheGibson You willing to go with XLR connectors? Willing to spend gobs of money?

    Beyond expensive, but a Neumann U87 is a stellar voice mic. I used a version of it years ago. Amazing if you can get it. (Pretty much any other Neumann is good, and there are cheaper.)

    I tried an AKG last year and was quite happy with it. Forget the model though.

    I have not been impressed with Apex mics.

    Rode is okay. I've heard good things about the CAD E-100S.

    Sennheiser is always a good bet.

      @TheGibson I have not tried any USB mics yet.

      Best advice: rent a mic if you can and try it out. You never know how it's going to respond to you voice until you try it.

      I rented a good mic last year (can't remember the brand!) and I was not impressed.
