Looking at the menu for a restaurant I'm hopping to eat at in Trier (they serve both traditional German dishes and 9th century Roman dishes, which is what I'm really interested in). I spotted something called bier-cola which is apparently exactly what it sounds like. Germans are mixing beer and cola. That sounds like an abomination. And, yet, I'm now morbidly curious.

Have you ever mentioned draw drink "red eye" in conversation with an American?
"What is a red eye?"
"Well you start with beer and add Clamato..."
"Clah what?"
"Clamato. Tomato and clam juice."
"Oh...OH GAWD! :blobastonished: "
So "bier - cola" ain't so bad
Except I can rarely have either given I can only drink Gluten free beer which isn't offered everywhere. Oh well.
