Yesterday I used the Ubuntu Software Center to upgrade the BIOS on my Thinkpad. It took 542ms according to the logs.
23 years ago I couldn't get my printer working because I didn't know what isapnp was, and I had to learn to read out DMA registers in order to get my soundcard to work.
It's been a long time. We've come a long way. #linux
