I don't know why, but I was thinking the other day that some weed would be a good birthday or Christmas present for my dad, now that it's legal. I also think my mom would definitely not approve (but maybe mom is cooler than I think and just keeps it under wraps).
I won't follow through on this thought, because it'd be too weird, but it's a thought I had and I just felt like putting it out there for the sake of conversation.

On a more serious note, though, how long until this becomes an acceptable gift? People gift alcohol without a second thought. Cigars are sometimes an acceptable gift. Will weed become an acceptable gift in the near future, now that it's legal?

@ink_slinger I'm curious to see how long before the giggle factor passes. Use is still pretty under wraps, even being legal.

@Modern_Industrial Yeah, after decades of whispers and discretion for anyone who wasn't heavily into "cannabis culture," it'll be a while before attitudes change. That said, I suspect the big shift will come next year, when edibles are legal. Giving someone a baggy of weed might seem like an odd gift, but a tasteful box of THC gummies? Suddenly it has very different optics.
