I get to vote today on a fellow instructor's application to rise to "Instructor II" on the organizational chart. That amounts to not even a little increase in job security, but it does add a little to the paycheck. I am going to say every positive thing I can say regarding her teaching work. We teach ten classes a year so that our tenured colleagues can do their thing. And I hope to God that my colleagues realize this. University self-governance--what an oxymoron! #smallstories
