   Apparently, the main cause of bullying is something called proactive aggression, a type of aggression associated with positive emotions in the aggressor, and intended to boost the aggressor's status, sense of power (males) or group cohesion (both sexes). Proactive aggressors are usually good at getting others to join them in an activity, and are often quite popular. Some claim the trait is adaptive: While it makes one more likely to commit crimes, it also boosts one's chances of success.

      In my experience, the biggest dicks I knew in school tended to end up in the higher status occupations later in life. The most intolerable snot in my class became a professional soccer player. He was an extremely competitive guy who always knew what he wanted, and of course he had the face and physique of a model. I'm sure he got laid quite a bit, despite being the last person on earth to deserve it.

         When I see successful good looking men, I always wonder who they bullied in school. Whenever I'm in the vicinity of such people, I'm immediately repulsed. They typically ooze with snottiness, and if you ever catch them hitting in women, slightly drunk, they are extra nasty.
