   Transgenderism should not belong to the ideological left, which organizes itself around collectivism and conformity to identity groups. Claiming a non-standard gender, the defining characteristic of a non-binary identity, is itself an expression of individualism. It rejects conformity to a gender identity group.

      @SirBemrose This would be true except for the unfortunate recent trend of using the course of violence of state power to force other individuals to accept as collective reality the non-conforming gender claims of other individuals. Everyone can have their own fantasy but they may not coerce participation in it.
